Who I amMs. Trelane Clark is the principal at Hooks Elementary School in Chelsea, Massachusetts, a city
adjacent to Boston. She has been serving in education for 24 years. Trelane began teaching in the Boston Public Schools and has since served students in public, private, urban, and suburban schools. She believes that building relationships is central to the work that educators must do. Her professional mission is to inspire educators to Teach from the Heart, model Resiliency, lead with Integrity, Value relationships, and ensure Equity for students, families, and educators (T.H.R.I.V.E.). I joined BWEL to make a difference. I appreciate being associated with a team of ladies who have a commitment to serve others and ensure that the next generation of Black women education leaders are equipped with the tools to do the same.

What I do for BWELThe President provides leadership for BWEL, sets the date and agenda for, and presides at, all meetings of the Board, appoints all committees, assists with conference planning, is responsible to see that any necessary paid staff support (e.g., the conference coordinator) is secured.
