Who I amMs. Trelane Clark is the principal at Hooks Elementary School in Chelsea, Massachusetts, a city adjacent to Boston. She has been serving in education for well over 25 years. Trelane began teaching in the
Boston Public Schools and has since served as a teacher and leader in public, private, urban, and suburban schools. She is passionate about building relationships that support educators in providing equitable educational opportunities for students. Additionally, as a Black woman in educational leadership, Trelane believes that bringing others like her into community and sisterhood has the power to change the educational landscape. She also serves as the President of the Concord Academy Alums Association. Trelane has delivered workshops, presentations, and speeches, and has shared her story on several podcasts. Her mission is to T.H.R.I.V.E. - Teach from the Heart, model Resiliency, lead with Integrity, Value relationships, and ensure Equity for students, families, and educators. Why I Joined BWEL
I joined BWEL to make a difference. I appreciate being associated with a team of ladies who have a commitment to serve others and ensure that the next generation of Black women education leaders are equipped with the tools to do the same.

What I do for BWELThe President provides leadership for BWEL, sets the date and agenda for, and presides at, all meetings of the Board, appoints all committees, assists with conference planning, is responsible to see that any necessary paid staff support (e.g., the conference coordinator) is secured.
